Position Details:

  • We are currently looking for a Forest School Educator as well as a 2x a week Assistant Educator  to Support Neurodivergent Children.

  • Location: Chelsea, Quebec (15-20 minutes from downtown Ottawa)

  • Hours: Part-time (15-30 hours/week)

  • Start Date: August 26, 2024

  • Salary: Starting at $22/hour (based on education and experience)

Requirements:

  • Experience working with young children, ideally outdoors

  • Enthusiasm for the outdoors in all weather conditions

  • First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)

  • Clear criminal/vulnerable sector check

  • Bilingual in English and French

  • The Assistant Educator to Support Neurodivergent Children will require experience working with Children with Autism, Down's Syndrome, etc. The position requires the aide to work one on one to support their designated student in managing social situations, behaviour management, including intervening in crisis situations as needed, following routines, and generally integrating into the class. At times this may involve much one on one time
    whenever required by the student.

Assets:

  • Forest School Practitioner's Certificate

  • Early Childhood Education Diploma or Teaching Degree

  • Understanding of child-led learning and risk-taking benefits

  • Familiarity with local flora and fauna
